Leviathan, a 1975 novel in The Illuminatus! Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea. In Leviathan, Hobbes describes the nature of a common-wealth—how a common-wealth is made and under what circumstances it is maintained or destroyed—and he also explains the “Christian common-wealth” and the “Kingdome of Darkness.” Hobbes begins with the basic thoughts of humankind. The seventeenth century English philosopher Thomas Hobbes is best known for his political philosophy, as revealed in his magnum opus 'Leviathan' (1651). Hobbes regarded government primarily as a device for ensuring collective security.
